Promote Background Layer

This event-based script unlocks the Background layer and turns it into a real layer.

To download this script, right-click (Ctrl-click on the Mac) on the appropriate version below, and choose "Save Target As".

Download the script, and copy it into your "Adobe Photoshop ##/Presets/Scripts/Event Scripts Only" folder
Choose File » Scripts » Scripts Event Manager
Select an event (e.g., Open Document, New Document) from the Photoshop Event drop-down
Select Promote Background Layer.jsx from the Script drop-down
Press the Add button
Press the Done button
